Like I said, I've reported on here about a SA 1911 not functioning correctly before, yet I'm probably one of the biggest SA 1911 fan here, I own two already and just put up the money for a $2500 full custom SA, so I was definitely not trying to smear anyone. Third, regardless of if I have contacted them or not, the part is still out of spec and worth mentioning, in my opinion. And if you look at my ratings in any peer to peer trade/sale website like gunbroker or ebay, you'll notice I have all 100% as buyer or seller. I'd rather surprise you than to let you down. I've already dealt with someone else here, with a magazine trade, and he'll tell you that when the trade was done, the quality of the mags I sent to him surpassed the way I described them. I'm planning on meeting them at a gunshow (so no need to ship to them) and asking if it can be replaced, and while they're at it, I'll pay to get the spider filled in (red or white I have yet to decide) and get a flag laser engraved on the right. The front wall in front of the magazine well is much thinner than both the RRA and the other Spike's, and the back wall behind the magazine well is much thicker. Well, it appears that the one I chose to build was actually out of spec. So I checked it visually with my RRA lower since I KNOW that one is built to spec, and just for the heck of it, I checked it with the other Spike's lower as well. I tried to think if anything I could have done improperly would cause this, but nothing came to mind. Instead, the bolt stop was going BEHIND the follower, jamming up the magazine before it can seat all the way up. So far forward the bolt stop is not hitting the follower like it should to activate the bolt stop. When I insert the magazine, the magazine ends up too far forward. So I remove the upper receiver to get a better picture of what's happening when I insert a magazine. Now I expected a chance of encountering a problem with the trigger assembly functions check, but this I assumed it would be fine, just wanted to do it for the heck of it.Īnd low and behold, what happens? The magazine does not seat all the way in, the mag catch will not catch.

Then I decided to try inserting a magazine. It went smoothly, did a functions check on the trigger assembly and everything seemed to be in order. So I took apart my RRA lower and put all of the parts into the Spike's lower. Last week I decided to get some practice doing it and also to spruce up my good ol RRA with the 'cooler' looking Spike's Tactical lower. Hey guys, a few months ago I purchased two Spike's Tactical AR15 stripped lowers with the intent of building them up.
